Film

We’re working towards making a film written and directed by Cory McAbee, produced by Gregory Bayne, and brought to life by all of us. Details coming soon.

Since our founding we have been working toward the launch of a film project that would speak directly to the spirit of what we are attempting to create in CAMC, while providing a tangible opportunity for global collaboration around a singular project. We are very proud to announce that this fledgling film project has been selected for inclusion in the 2012 Sundance New Frontier Story Lab, where we will be kicking off its development.

The project is THE EMBALMER’S TALE. Conceived by Cory, and to be created by us all.

Here is a short synopsis.

Filmmakers, musicians, animators, illustrators, photographers, writers, actors and artists from every discipline are being brought together to participate in a global collaborative known as CAPTAIN AHAB’S MOTORCYCLE CLUB. In the same spirit as the global collaboration that fuels its production, THE EMBALMER’S TALE takes us on the 1,654- mile journey that carried the body of President Abraham Lincoln from Washington D.C. to its final resting place in Springfield, Il. This procession, meant to reunite a war torn nation, quickly becomes fraught with trouble as the soldiers, and embalming surgeons, tasked with this quest find themselves soon battling the elements, the press, a weary public, and each other, as they endeavor to keep the journey on track, and the President’s remains intact.
